The Department of Psychology at the University of Oregon invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Clinical Psychology at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin in Fall 2016.
We seek exceptional candidates to join our doctoral program, which is jointly accredited by American Psychological Association and Psychological Clinical Science Accreditation System. Current faculty have interests in infant, child, adolescent, and adult psychopathology; trauma and maltreatment; developmental psychopathology; multicultural contexts and health disparities; parenting; prevention and intervention science; implementation science, and translational neuroscience. We are a collaborative group who highly value multidisciplinary work with each other, as well as with faculty in other areas of psychology and related disciplines. There are extensive opportunities for collaboration across the university, including at the Prevention Science Institute, the Center for Translational Neuroscience, and the Institute of Neuroscience. There are also state-of-the-art neuroimaging facilities at the University of Oregon's Lewis Center for Neuroimaging, including a research-dedicated 3T MRI system (Siemens Skyra).
The emphasis for this search is not on a specific sub-domain of clinical psychology, but rather on the individual’s potential to (a) make innovative scientific contributions to knowledge and treatment of mental health disorders, and (b) through teaching and service to contribute to the intellectual community of the program, the department, and the university. Candidates are also expected to show strong promise of an externally funded program of research. Qualifications include a PhD in psychology and a completed APA approved clinical internship (or an international equivalent). Eligibility for psychology licensure in the State of Oregon is preferred. Teaching duties will include offerings at both undergraduate and graduate levels, and may also include clinical supervision.
