Faculty Positions at Northwestern University

The Psychology Department at Northwestern University seeks to hire two professors for tenure-track positions in the area broadly defined as Diversity Science. One hire will be at the rank of Assistant Professor, and the other is open to any rank.  Diversity Science examines variations in basic human psychological functioning across gender, culture and ethnic groups; and extends psychological science to understudied populations, including (but not limited to) racial/ethnic minorities, persons from lower socio-economic classes, persons with disabilities, individuals with minority sexual orientations, and immigrants. We welcome scientists from the full range of disciplines and areas that comprise contemporary psychological science. We particularly welcome applications from scientists whose work addresses the role of cultural, racial/ethnic, socioeconomic, or gender identities, contexts, and processes in the domains of particular emphasis in our department: cognitive and affective neuroscience, human development, personality, health, psychopathology, and cognitive and social processes. Overall, we seek applicants whose research, teaching, and service will contribute to the Department’s diversity mission, while integrating with and complementing existing Department strengths.
