Winter Issue of Clinical Science is Here

A message from Erika Lawrence, PhD, Editor of Clinical Science:

Hello colleagues,
It is my honor and privilege to share with you the Winter issue of Clinical Science, SSCP’s publication.
In 2010, I featured several series of articles on specific topics, including:
  • a series on evidence-based interventions
  • a series on SSCP’s responses to a recent Division 12 Resolution regarding evidence-based interventions
  • a series of articles on the provocative discovery --- and ensuing lawsuits – that APA’s practice fee has long charged members is not actually a mandatory fee
I am proud to announce that the current issue includes a feature-length article on each of these topics.
Additionally, several SSCP Board Members have written rich and thought-provoking columns for this issue:
  • Outgoing SSCP President Tom Ollendick, PhD composed a thoughtful column of reflections on his presidency.
  • SSCP Student Representative Rebecca Brock, MA, Representative-at-Large Kelly Wilson, PhD, and Student Representative Frank Farach, PhD provide preliminary results of their recent survey regarding the internship crisis facing our students.
  • New SSCP President Varda Shoham, PhD contributed a lovely tribute to Dick Bootzin, PhD, the recent winner of the SSCP Distinguished Scientist Award
  • And last but not least, SSCP Representative-at-Large Bethany Teachman, PhD announces an exciting new initiative to promote the training of the next generation of clinical scientists
There are additional articles and columns that I have not even mentioned here. Whether you are trapped under 3 feet of snow and ice, or simply enjoying the last few days of quiet before the semester kicks into high gear, please take a moment to enjoy this issue and catch up on the major issues facing clinical scientists right now.

Cordially,

Erika Lawrence
Editor, Clinical Science
