Call for Nominations: SSCP Distinguished Scientist Award

The SSCP Distinguished Scientist Award is given each year to an individual (who need not be an SSCP member) who has made an extremely important career contribution to the science of clinical psychology. The most recent recipient of this award was Dr. William E. Pelham, Professor of Psychology at Florida International University.  A list of previous award winners appears on the SSCP Web Site (https://sites.google.com/site/sscpwebsite/awards/distinguished-scientist-awardees).
The award winner will be invited to present a talk at the APS or APA 2013 annual meeting and will receive a $1,000 honorarium.
Nominating individuals for this award is easy, and I strongly encourage you to do so.
E-mail me with the individual's name, CV, and a brief (no more than 1 page) description of why you believe she or he is deserving of the award. Specifically, it will be most helpful if you can describe the individual's accomplishments that are most relevant to the contribution to the science of clinical psychology. Self-nominations are welcome. Please e-mail these nominations to me at heimberg@temple.edu
Members of the SSCP board will review applications and select the award recipient. The deadline for the award nomination is October 15, 2012.
Best regards,
Rick Heimberg, PhD
President, SSCP 2012
