Dr. Ian Gotlib Selected for 2013 SSCP Distinguished Scientist Award

On behalf of the SSCP Board, it is my distinct honor and pleasure to let you know that we have selected Professor Ian Gotlib, the David Starr Jordon Professor of Psychology and Director of the Stanford Mood and Anxiety Disorders Laboratory at Stanford University, to receive the 2013 SSCP Distinguished Scientist Award.  Congratulations Ian!

This award is given each year to an individual who has made extremely important career contributions to the science of clinical psychology. The past two years winners are Dick Bootzin (2011) and Bill Pelham (2012).
Dr. Gotlib is an exemplary clinical scientist whose research has characterized the psychological and biological functioning of depressed adults and youth at risk for the development of depression.  His work has helped us reach a deeper understanding of the developmental antecedents, correlates, and consequences of major depression and has had significant treatment implications as well. His work has been consistently supported by the NIMH. His contribution to the science of clinical psychology have been significant, scholarly, cutting edge, and socially important.
Please join me in congratulating Ian.
Best regards,

Rick Heimberg
SSCP President 2012
