Assistant Professor – Psychology
The Department of Psychology at Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) is accepting
applications for a full-time, tenure-track position as Assistant Professor beginning
Fall 2014.

Seeking energetic, highly motivated candidates with expertise in applied psychology.
The area of specialization is open, but we are particularly interested in the broad
areas of architectural psychology, environmental sustainability, social networks, and
technology and wellness, as well as individuals who can connect to one or more of
our current areas of graduate training. We offer scientist-practitioner graduate training
in Clinical Psychology (APA Accredited), Industrial/Organizational Psychology, and
Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling (CORE Accredited). This position will
serve a key role in helping to develop and support our growing undergraduate
program, advising undergraduates and directing capstone projects. The candidate is
expected to teach courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, be
involved in recruitment and retention efforts, establish/continue a strong, productive,
and programmatic line of research, and build collaborations with other psychology
faculty and/or form interdisciplinary linkages with faculty from other academic units
across IIT. Qualifications include a Ph.D. in Psychology, excellence in teaching, and
potential for programmatic research and scholarly publication.
IIT is a private, Carnegie Doctoral/Research High institution. The first Psychology
degrees were awarded in 1926. The department is located on the University’s 120-
acre Main Campus in the vibrant city of Chicago. IIT pairs the educational and
cultural experiences of a world-class city with a small, yet growing, undergraduate
population of approximately 2800 and a total student population of approximately
7600. The department consists of eighteen full-time faculty members. We currently
have approximately 75 undergraduate majors and 210 graduate students. The
