Postdoctoral Fellowship at Harvard University

Research on Psychotherapy Effectiveness and Implementation with Children and Adolescents [Start date: Available Jan-August, 2014]

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral fellowship under the direction of Professor John Weisz in the Department of Psychology at Harvard University. The research includes:

• Randomized trials testing psychotherapies for children and adolescents, encompassing anxiety, depression, and conduct-related problems and disorders.
• Training and supervising community clinicians in the use of evidence-based practices, and testing various methods of implementation and dissemination.  
• Evaluation of treatment monitoring and feedback systems to guide treatment of children and adolescents.
• Meta-analyses of youth treatment outcome research.

Strong applicants will have:

• Experience and demonstrated effectiveness in youth treatment-related research.
• Clinical training and experience in CBT for youth depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress, and in behavioral parent training for youth conduct problems.
• Experience in supervising, consulting, or training clinicians in evidence-based methods.
• Experience and skill in giving professional presentations.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Strong computer, statistical, and technical skills (experience with Microsoft Access and HTML desirable).
• Experience with psychophysiological data collection and/or analysis.

Postdoctoral activities may include directing funded research trials, training and supervising community clinicians who are research participants, study database management, oversight of online clinician feedback systems, and grant-writing and manuscript preparation consistent with the individual’s research interests. The work involves collaboration with an active research team at Harvard University under the mentorship of the PI, Dr. John Weisz. Data from multiple clinical investigations can be used for the postdoctoral fellow’s individual research. The stipend and benefits are quite competitive.
