Assistant Professor for Clinical Psychology

The Department of Psychology at Hofstra University invites applications for an anticipated full-time, tenure-track assistant professor position in Clinical Psychology beginning September 2014.  Candidates with interests in any area of child, adolescent or adult psychopathology or psychological treatment, are encouraged to apply.  The position is primarily for the Ph.D. Program in Clinical Psychology, although some undergraduate teaching is required as well.   Our Ph.D. program follows the scientist-practitioner model and faculty members clinical orientation is primarily cognitive behavioral (e.g., cognitive therapy, behavioral analysis, exposure therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy).   The ideal applicant will complement the existing faculty members’ areas of expertise.

Applicants should have been awarded their Ph.D. by August 2014, in Clinical Psychology, or a closely related field (e.g., Clinical Health Psychology). Candidates should show clear evidence of research productivity along with the potential to develop an independent program of research, and a significant commitment to teaching and supervision at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
