Meet the Authors: An Interview with Ellen Kirschman, Ph.D.

Dr. Kirschman  is author of Counseling Cops: What Clinicians Need to Know published by Guilford Books.
 
Ellen Kirschman, MSW, PhD, is a clinical psychologist in independent practice in Redwood City, California, and a volunteer clinician at the West Coast Post-Trauma Retreat. She is a recipient of the Award for Outstanding Contributions to Police and Public Safety Psychology from the Police and Public Safety Section of Division 18 (Psychologists in Public Service) of the American Psychological Association (APA). Dr. Kirschman presents workshops worldwide and is the author of the self-help guide I Love a Cop: What Police Families Need to Know, as well as I Love a Fire Fighter: What the Family Needs to Know and the mystery novel Burying Ben. Meet the Authors: An Interview with Jennifer Cornish, Ph.D.
Thursday February 20th from 5:00 - 6:00 PM Eastern Time
Dr. Cornish is Co-Editor (with Barry Schreir, Lavita Nadkarni, Lynett Metzger & Emil Rodolfa) of the
Handbook of Multicultural Counseling Competencies published by Wiley.
 
Dr. Cornish has been at the University of Denver since 1990 and is currently Associate Professor and Director of Clinical Training and Internship Consortium at the Graduate School of Professional Psychology. She also has a small private practice specializing in psychotherapy and supervision. Her interest areas include supervision and training, ethics, multiculturalism, and group modalities. Dr. Cornish is a licensed psychologist in Colorado, listed with the National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology, board certified in Counseling Psychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology, and a Fellow of the American Psychological Association. She was elected Distinguished Practitioner of Psychology, by the National Academies of Practice in 2009.
Meet the Experts: An Interview with Craig Cypher, Psy.D.
Friday February 21st from Noon - 1:00 PM Eastern Time
Dr. Cypher will discuss the topic, "Helping Families Navigate the Modern Challenges of Today's Technology."

Dr. Cypher is a Licensed Psychologist with a Private Practice in Pittsford, NY.  Dr. Cypher has over a decade of experience working with children, adolescents, young adults, and their families in a variety of mental health and educational settings. His philosophy in providing psychological services to children, adolescents, young adults, and their families is to serve as a guide in a learning process designed to help clients overcome challenges. He is also the creator and founder of CohesiveSelf, an iOS app designed to help individuals track their emotional health and access tools to improve their mood. He is especially interested in ways to help children, adolescents, and their families bring about greater social and emotional balance where technology is part of larger life instead of the primary focus.
