On her website regarding Animal-Assisted Psychotherapy Dr. Piper writes:

Animal Assisted Psychotherapy can be utilized with individuals, couples, and families. Animals can aid psychotherapy by helping us feel safe, loved, and accepted without judging us. Also, animals sense things that may be out of our awareness and they react to that by attempting to connect with us, perhaps by putting their head on your lap or gently nudging you with their nose.  This can be an animal’s way of saying they know, understand, and want to help you. Occasionally, when an animal does something, such as act scared, a person may identify with that feeling and that then becomes part of the psychotherapy process with a client.

Moms in Practice Peer Consultation and Support Group: Hosted by Lauren Behrman, Ph.D.
Friday 3/14 at 2:00 PM EST

Are you a mom in independent practice or wishing to go into independent practice?

Are you trying to find the balance between home and career?

Are you struggling with the demands of taking care of your own children and providing quality care for your clients/patients?

Have you made the paradigm shift of identifying yourself as an entrepreneur, and learned the business strategies a savvy mom/practitioner/clinician needs in today's economy?

If any of your answers to these questions is a resounding "YES", join TPI Partner (and mother of 3) for a peer support and consultation group, which will explore a wide range of issues pertinent to integrating our roles as mothers and independent practitioners. We will share our wisdom, resources, experiences and concerns with each other, and create our own agenda for the issues we wish to address. This event is open to the public and will take place once each month.
