Strategies for Scaling Tested and Effective Family-Focused Preventive Interventions to Promote Children's Cognitive, Affective, and Behavioral Health: A Workshop

On April 1-2, 2014, the Institute of Medicine-National Research Council Forum on Promoting Children’s Cognitive, Affective, and Behavioral Health will  convene a public workshop on Strategies for Scaling Tested and Effective Family-Focused Preventive Interventions to Promote Children's Cognitive, Affective, and Behavioral Health. The workshop will feature presentations on and discussion of how to provide effective family-focused interventions at sufficient scale and reach to reduce the incidence and prevalence of negative cognitive, affective, and behavioral outcomes among youth in the United States. Specific topics that will be explored include successes and challenges in scaling family-focused interventions; financing and infrastructure, including how provisions of the Affordable Care Act may influence implementation of preventive interventions in primary care settings; and innovative models in scaling family-focused interventions.  

The workshop will be held at the National Academy of Sciences building located at 2101 Constitution Ave, N.W., in Washington, DC.
