Assistant Professor-in-Residence at University of Connecticut

The Department of Psychology at the University of Connecticut in Storrs invites applications for an Assistant Professor-in-Residence for a non-tenure-track appointment at the Greater Hartford Campus. 

The Psychology Department currently has 56 FT faculty, including several at different regional campuses.  The department offers Ph.D. programs in Behavioral Neuroscience, Clinical, Developmental, Experimental, I/O, and Social Psychology and is interested in candidates whose expertise overlaps with one or more of these programs.  The Greater Hartford Campus offers a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and currently has approximately 100 Psychology majors.

The successful candidate will teach three undergraduate courses in Psychology each semester and is expected to participate in advising and other service and outreach activities.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:  Ph.D. in Psychology; a record of excellence in teaching; and a commitment to excellence mentoring undergraduate students.

Preferred Qualifications:  The ability to contribute to the diversity and excellence of the learning experience; a background in research methods; teaching expertise that complements that of current faculty; and evidence of an interest in continuing previous research activity.



Appointment Terms
This is a full-time, 9-month appointment with a preferred start date of August 23, 2014.  Reappointment is annual.  Multi-year appointments possible after 5 years.  Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
