St. Louis Children's Hospital Fellowship Position

ST. LOUIS CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL
PEDIATRIC PSYCHOLOGY POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP

The Psychology Department of St. Louis Children’s Hospital at Washington University Medical Center is pleased to recruit for a second Postdoctoral Fellowship position in Pediatric Psychology beginning September 2014.  With a balance of in-depth and broad based training experiences, this one-year program will prepare fellows to work independently in the practice of pediatric psychology.

The position will provide supervised clinical training in pediatric consultation/liaison, psychotherapy, and assessment. Primary clinical rotations include the Inpatient Consultation/Liaison Service, Cleft Palate and Craniofacial Institute, Sickle Cell Center, Newborn Medicine Program, and the outpatient Child Psychology Clinic.  Elective rotations in other child health areas allow for specialization in the fellow’s areas of choice (e.g., Organ Transplant, Diabetes, Oncology, Nephrology and/or Pain). Modest involvement in research and/or program evaluation is expected and opportunities to supervise graduate students exist.  The fellow will be provided with a range of didactic experiences to complete the training experience and to prepare the fellow for transitioning into a professional role as a psychologist.

We are seeking candidates who are highly motivated learners interested in developing strong competence in pediatric psychology, while continuing to build a solid foundation in clinical child psychology. We prefer that applicants have completed an APA-accredited doctoral program and internship with specific training experiences in pediatric psychology and clinical child/adolescent psychology.

The thirteen pediatric psychologists and neuropsychologists in the Department of Psychology at St. Louis Children’s Hospital hold academic appointments within the Washington University School of Medicine.  Our fellowship program is a member of the Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers (APPIC).  St. Louis Children’s Hospital is considered a premier hospital and medical training facility attracting high caliber clinicians and researchers.  St. Louis Children’s Hospital is an affirmative action and equal opportunity employer. Candidates from minority and diverse cultural backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
