Full Time Research Assistant Position

The ADHERE: Addiction and Health Research Lab in the Department of Psychiatry at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth http://geiselmed.dartmouth.edu/adhere/ currently has a position open to assist Dr. Catherine Stanger in research on the development and evaluation of psychosocial treatments to improve adherence among teens with Type 1 diabetes. The NIH funded project involves a randomized trial comparing the usual care provided to teens with poor metabolic control with a newly developed treatment program that includes motivational enhancement therapy, cognitive behavior therapy, and parent training delivered over the internet, plus an incentive program to increase teen blood glucose testing and parent monitoring. Teens also receive working memory training (www.cogmed.com).   This position provides excellent experience for persons seeking a research position in support of a planned application for graduate or medical school.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The research assistant will screen potential participants, conduct clinical research interviews and assessments, manage the project database, and serve as a Cogmed (working memory training) coach.

REQUIREMENTS 
Bachelor’s degree with a major in one of the Biological or Social Sciences, a minimum of 1 year of relevant clinical human subjects research experience.  A 2-year commitment to the position is preferred. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, responsible, able to work independently, and have great interpersonal and communication skills as well as meticulous attention to detail.
