Visiting Assistant or Associate Professor University of Hawaii at Manoa (Honolulu, HI)

The Department of Psychology at University of Hawaii invites applications for a 9
month, visiting professor position, non-tenure track, full time, temporary position to
begin in Fall 2014, position number 82198T.
Duties and Responsibilities: To teach 5 courses total (3/2) offered over the Fall and
Spring semesters, and includes the graduate Assessment sequence (Assessment I and
II), and undergraduate Abnormal Psychology. For the other two courses, our needs
include graduate History and Systems, graduate treatment or assessment seminars, or
additional undergraduate clinical courses, depending of the candidate’s areas of
expertise. Consult with faculty and students in areas of research expertise and
scholarship. Participate in department, college and university activities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Assistant Professor: Earned PhD in Psychology from an accredited college, university
or foreign equivalent. ABD will be considered with degree conferred by August 1, 2014.
Area of specialization is Clinical Psychology. Documented scholarly achievement and
demonstrated ability to teach. Ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in
the areas listed above.
Associate Professor Minimum Qualifications
1. In addition to the minimum qualifications for Assistant Professor, a minimum of
four years of full-time college or university teaching at the rank of assistant
professor or equivalent with evidence of increasing professional maturity.
2. Demonstrated record of strong scholarly achievement.
3. Record of service which might include membership on department committees or
as regional or higher level officer in professional society.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

Assistant Professor
1. A developing record of publication.
2. A developing record of extramural funding.
3. A minimum of two years of post-doctoral experience.

Associate Professor
1. In addition to the desirable qualifications for Assistant Professor, a strong record
of publication in well-respected scientific journals.
2. High ratings in teaching evaluations.
3. Strong record of extramural funding.
