The Children's Trauma Institute is
an innovative collaboration between the New York City Administration for
Children's Services and the New York University School of Medicine to use
trauma-related knowledge in child welfare settings to improve outcomes for
children and families.
Study Clinician
We are currently recruiting a
bilingual Spanish/English clinician to deliver an evidence-based mental health
treatment for mothers in preventive services with histories of trauma/PTSD.
Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Delivering manualized mental health intervention in
child welfare settings;
- Conducting assessments;
- Coordinating intervention delivery with staff from ACS
and contract preventive agencies;
- Providing technical assistance and training to staff
from ACS and contract preventive agencies;
- Assisting with project management and organization;
- Assisting with database management and data analysis;
and
- Assisting with papers and presentations.
Postdoctoral Fellow
Candidates must be license-eligible
(Ph.D. or Psy.D.) and have a limited permit (supervision for licensure is
provided). Knowledge of trauma and child welfare is required. Experience with
research, project management, and collection of research assessments is
desired. Flexibility around work hours, and the ability to work some evenings,
is preferred. The candidate should possess strong interpersonal skills, good
problem-solving abilities, and knowledge of the mental health and child welfare
systems. Bilingual (English-Spanish) candidates will get strong preference.
Database management and strong computer and administrative skills are highly
desirable.
