Bilingual Faculty Psychologist Texas Children's Hospital/Baylor College of Medicine

Faculty Psychologist

The Psychology Section in the Department of Pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) is recruiting for a Bilingual Faculty Psychologist with a strong commitment to evidence-based practice and the ability to effectively provide treatment to Spanish speaking patients and families.   Academic rank is commensurate with experience.  Qualified candidates must be graduates of APA accredited doctoral programs in clinical, school, or counseling psychology, and have completed an APA accredited internship with postdoctoral experience in child/adolescent psychology and eligibility for licensure as a Psychologist in Texas. We are interested in expanding our clinical, training, and research missions in multicultural behavioral health programs/services and are looking for an outstanding candidate to join our dynamic program and lead this effort.  We seek to recruit an individual with excellent leadership potential who will strengthen our program’s multicultural educational environment and the quality of our service to culturally diverse populations.

Texas Children's Hospital (TCH) and the Department of Pediatrics, BCM are the largest in the country. Recent census data show that the greater Houston area contains over 5.5 million inhabitants, making Houston the 4th largest U.S. city.  Houston is an affordable, international city that is a leader in the arts, education, and health care. The population base includes a wide variety of racial and ethnic groups that give Houston a rich diversity and cosmopolitan feel. In fact Houston is the most diverse large city in the U.S. and at Texas Children's we serve large Hispanic populations and other children and families from minority backgrounds. The Section of Psychology has over 30 full time faculty based at TCH.  We value diversity and are committed to inclusion as well as the recruitment, retention, development and promotion of psychologists of all backgrounds and experiences.  We believe this inclusion reflects the multicultural values and experiences of our patients, families and broader community.

Interested candidates should send a CV and letter of interest to M. Douglas Ris, Ph.D., Chief of the Psychology Service, Texas Children's Hospital and Head of the Psychology Section, Department of Pediatrics, Baylor College of Medicine, atdmris@texaschildrens.org.
