Postdoctoral Research Position in Adolescent Health Promotion (Seattle, WA)

Postdoctoral Fellowship: The Center for Child Health, Behavior, and Development at the Seattle Children’s Research Institute is accepting applications for a one to two year postdoctoral position, funded by two federal grants and a PCORI contract (PIs: Dr. Cari McCarty and Dr. Laura Richardson).

These research projects focus on improving the quality of preventive health care for adolescents, particularly around multifaceted health screening, provider training, motivational interviewing, adolescent-centered communication, and early intervention in primary care settings (including self-management, coaching, and technological innovations to promote healthy behavior).

Job responsibilities include: working as part of a research team to coordinate and implement data collection; analyzing, interpreting, presenting and writing up study findings; generating and answering novel research questions and disseminating findings.  The fellow may additionally participate in interdisciplinary leadership seminars with other postdoctoral and medical fellows, as part of the UW LEAH program (http://depts.washington.edu/uwleah). The fellow will have ample time for writing and developing their own research questions, for seeking additional statistical training and consultation, and for presenting  his/her research findings at national conferences. Start date: June 1- September 1- 2015.
