Postdoctoral Fellowship Opportunity in Child Trauma

Children’s Advocacy Services of Greater St. Louis (CASGSL), a unit of the Department of Psychological Sciences at the University of Missouri – St. Louis is accepting applications for a 1 year postdoctoral fellowship in the area of Child Trauma beginning September 1, 2015. CASGSL is a fully funded Category III site of the National Child Traumatic Stress Network and the Post Doc position is funded through the Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration (Grant #061114-01). The primary objective for this position is to produce clinicians who are well versed in the practice, supervision and training of evidenced based practice used to treat childhood traumatic stress. Fellows will be working on the Families Learning About Recovery Strategies (FLARES) project which provides simultaneous treatment of children and their caregivers who have experienced trauma. Training includes opportunities for assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning, outpatient individual, and family treatment as well as opportunities for supervision of student trainees and training of community clinicians all under the guidance of a clinical supervisor. Fellows provide services to a diverse clientele of children and families.

Applicants will have completed an APA-accredited internship and all requirements for a doctoral degree in Clinical/Counseling Psychology prior to an anticipated September 1, 2015 start date.  Training and practice implementing Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) is preferred. In addition to a 12-month competitive stipend, Fellows will be eligible for the University benefit package including medical, dental and life insurance and paid professional liability insurance.
