Clinical Research Postdoctoral Fellowship: Latinos and First Episode Psychosis

Postdoctoral Research Associate Announcement

The Department of Psychology in the Dornsife College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences at the University of Southern California invites applications for a Post-doctoral clinical/community research position.  We received an administrative supplement to our parent research grant in which we are evaluating a Spanish language Communication Campaign to reduce the duration of untreated psychosis among persons with first episode psychosis.  The administrative supplement aims to identify persons with first episode psychosis outside of the target area and of Euro- American background, whereas the parent grant focuses on Latinos only within our target area.  Given the increase in the data collection, data management, and subsequent data analysis and manuscript preparation, we look to hire a post-doctoral research associate to coordinate this new segment to the ongoing research.  The post-doctoral research associate will work with a multidisciplinary clinical research team and will have regular contact with patients at an outpatient and inpatient mental health facility.  The full-time position requires excellent Spanish language and English language skills, a strong background in clinical/community research, and very good oral presentation skills. The postdoctoral fellow will be expected to contribute to publications and grant writing.  Writing a grant to support their own training will be especially encouraged.

The review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.  Applicants should submit a cover letter describing their relevant research and community/clinical interests and their most recent curriculum vitae, and arrange for the submission of three letters of recommendation.  For more information please check our website https://dornsife.usc.edu/labs/culture-and-mental-health/ or contact Steven R. Lopez, lopezs@usc.edu.

Please send all application materials to: Monina Letargo, Administrative Assistant (letargo@usc.edu)
