Postdoctoral Fellowship in Child Welfare and Trauma-Informed Care
The University of Tennessee Health Science Center invites applicants for postdoctoral training, within a scholar-practitioner model, for a position working with the Center of Excellence for Children in State Custody (UT COE) at the Boling Center for Developmental Disabilities. The UT COE is designated a Community Treatment and Services Center in the National Child Traumatic Stress Network (NCTSN). Applicants must have a doctorate (Ph.D., Psy.D. or Ed.D.) in clinical, counseling, or school psychology. Completion of all professional doctoral degree requirements from a regionally accredited institution of higher education or an APA/CPA accredited program and predoctoral internship meeting APPIC standards is required before starting the fellowship. Responsibilities within this position include child evaluations surrounding  trauma issues and developmental functioning, as well as assessment of a range of emotional and behavioral problems evidenced  by children who have experienced abuse and neglect; consultation with caregivers, child welfare workers, teachers, and other service providers regarding effective interventions; supervision of psychology trainees; opportunities for research and program development and evaluation; participation in didactic learning experiences and scholarly presentations; opportunities for providing evidence-based treatment, such as Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), and treatment for Children with Sexual Behavior Problems. The typical population served is diverse in ethnicity/race and geographic location (e.g., urban and rural). Applications will be accepted until position is filled by qualified applicant.
