Multiple positions at Phoenix Children's Hospital

CLINICAL CHILD PSYCHOLOGISTS BARROW NEUROLOGICAL INSTITUTE at PHOENIX CHILDRENS HOSPITAL Job Description: The Clinical Psychology Section at Barrow Neurological Institute, one of Phoenix Children's Hospital's six Centers of Excellence, is going through a rapid growth period. We are seeking a number of full-time psychologists to join the Section. Positions are available in the psychiatric inpatient units, outpatient service, and community-based clinics. These exciting positions include the evaluation and treatment of child patients with psychological difficulties, as well as those with comorbid complex and chronic medical conditions. We serve pediatric patients across all levels of care and psychologists are essential in assuring their mental health.  Implementation of evidence-based practice in individual, family, and group therapies is very desirable.
The hospital is currently planning an expansion of mental health services, with the aim of implementing population management principles. The expansion creates a tremendous need for psychological intervention in managing the mental healthcare needs of these children and their families.
PCH seeks to enhance the diversity of its staff to compliment the cultural and ethnic richness of our patients and their families. Bilingual competency in Spanish is very desirable.
Required Qualifications:  Qualifications for the position include doctoral training and internship at an APA-accredited program, with post-doctoral training in a medical setting preferred. Graduate and internship training with an emphasis on assessment and treatment of children and families is essential.   At least three years of demonstrated, post-doctoral experience with a broad range of child psychopathology, and proficiency with crisis assessment, family therapy, and brief therapeutic intervention with children and teens with psychological and/or medical conditions is preferred.  Licensure by the State of Arizona prior to the employment start date is required.  The successful candidate must be board certified or eligible, with board certification obtained within 6 years of initial employment with PCH
