Psychologist Position Openings at Marcus Autism Center Atlanta, GA

Marcus Autism Center 
Licensed Psychologists Needed for both the Research and Clinical Programs

 The Marcus Autism Center is one of the largest centers for clinical care of children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) in the country (5,390 unique children evaluated and/or treated in-house and 9,009 children impacted by community outreach programs during the calendar year 2014). The mission of Marcus is inherently multidisciplinary, housing practitioners and scientists and providing infrastructure for a multitude of clinical services and translational research projects. Disciplines include psychology, child psychiatry, developmental pediatrics, nursing, human genetics, applied behavior analysis, special education, speech pathology, occupational therapy, social work, counseling, neuroimaging, social neuroscience, speech science, engineering, and psychopharmacology. Marcus carries affiliations with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA), one of the largest systems of pediatric healthcare in the country, and functions academically as the Division of Autism and Related Disorders of Emory University School of Medicine’s Department of Pediatrics. 

Marcus Research Program Clinical Assessment Core: 
The Marcus Autism Center is seeking to hire a license-eligible clinical or school psychologist to conduct diagnostic evaluations and assessments within the Clinical Assessment Core (CAC) of the Research Program. The CAC is directed by Dr. Celine Saulnier and provides the clinical characterization data on infants through adults for over twodozen active research protocols, two of which are NIH Autism Centers of Excellence grants. The CAC currently consists of 9 doctoral-level psychologists, 3 licensed speech pathologists, a family nurse practitioner, a phlebotomist, a care coordinator, a genetics counselor, and over a dozen research staff. The psychologist would be working as part of a multidisciplinary team and trained to research reliability on diagnostic measures including the Autism Diagnostic Observation Scale, Second Edition (including Toddler Module), the Autism Diagnostic Interview, Revised, and the Vineland Adaptive Behavior Scales, Second Edition, Survey Interview. Developmental, cognitive, and language measures vary based on age of participants and study design. Strong consideration will be given to applicants who have experience conducting diagnostic evaluations for autism and related conditions, as well as experience testing infants and toddlers. Experience working within a research environment is preferred. There will be opportunities for supervision of pre- and postdoctoral fellows and graduate students, as well as participation in research activities. Marcus Pediatric Neurodevelopmental Center Diagnostic Evaluation Clinic: 
The Marcus Autism Center is also seeking to hire a license-eligible clinical or school psychologist to conduct diagnostic evaluations and assessments within the Pediatric Neurodevelopmental Center Diagnostic Evaluation Clinic. This clinic provides diagnostic evaluations for children ages 0-20, who are clinically referred to assess for autism spectrum disorder. The diagnostic team currently consists of 6 doctoral-level psychologists, who work in conjunction with developmental pediatricians, psychiatrists, pediatric nurse practitioners, and care coordinators within the Pediatric Neurodevelopment Clinic at the Marcus Autism Center. The psychologist would be conducting diagnostic evaluations using developmental, cognitive, and adaptive measures as well as the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, and would be providing supervision and training to postdoctoral fellows, pre doctoral interns and practicum students. Strong consideration will be given to applicants who have experience conducting diagnostic evaluations for autism and related conditions, as well as experience testing toddlers and preschool age children.
