Clinical Psychologist Position in the Acceptance and Mindfulness-Based Adult Partial Hospital Program

Clinical Psychologist Position in the Acceptance and Mindfulness-Based Adult Partial Hospital Program
Providence, Rhode Island

The Department of Psychiatry, Division of Adult Psychiatry, is seeking a full-time Clinical Psychologist to work in our Acceptance and Mindfulness-Based Adult Partial Hospital Program (PHP) at Rhode Island Hospital.  The PHP provides daily individual and group psychotherapy (including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and other mindfulness-based therapies) as well as medication management.  Our team of therapists and psychiatrists treats a broad range of concerns, most commonly (but not limited to) mood and anxiety disorders.  Qualifications include completion of a doctorate in Clinical Psychology and an APA-accredited internship, licensure/license-eligibility in Rhode Island, and experience or interest in acceptance and mindfulness-based therapies.  Although the position is primarily clinical, the PHP is a clinical research program specializing in the study of diagnostic assessment, measure development/validation, and treatment outcomes, and thus we welcome applicants with expertise or interest in conducting clinical research.
Responsibilities for this position include conducting group and individual psychotherapy using ACT and other third wave approaches.  In addition, there will be time for conducting clinical research as desired by the candidate.  Rhode Island Hospital is a major teaching hospital of the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University; therefore, opportunities also may be available for clinical teaching and candidates may be eligible for a clinical faculty appointment at Brown University.
Salary and benefits are competitive and commensurate with level of training and experience.  In addition to a supportive and collaborative work environment, we offer an excellent benefits package including healthcare and retirement benefits, disability insurance, malpractice insurance, legal/risk management consultation, and a professional allowance.   Please send a CV along with a letter of interest to Kristy Dalrymple, Ph.D., Director of Adult Psychology, via email (kristy_dalrymple@brown.edu).

Rhode Island Hospital is a Lifespan partner and an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer, dedicated to welcoming and promoting a diverse workforce.
