Assistant Professor in Clinical Psychology - University of La Verne

University of La Verne’s Department of Psychology invites applications for one full-time, ten-month, tenure track position. This position will begin with the 2016-2017 academic year. The specific areas of specialization include: (a) ability to teach one or more of the following courses: Cognitive and Intellectual Assessment, Human Development, and Professional Issues and Ethics (as well as other courses) in the clinical psychology (Psy.D. program), and (b) teach a variety of courses in the Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) program. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology.

Responsibilities include: teaching five courses a year (equivalent to no less than 15 semester hours) divided between the doctoral and Marriage and Family Therapy programs. Applicants are also expected to maintain an independent research program and to advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students. Qualifications include: a Ph.D in Clinical Psychology; record of excellence or potential in teaching; a demonstrated history of scholarly research and the potential to continue such work, and a commitment to quality teaching and scholarship in a comprehensive liberal arts university with a commitment to multiculturalism and a very diverse student body. Applicants must come from an APA-accredited clinical doctoral program; have completed an APA-accredited internship, and possess the ability to be licensed in California within 3 years of initial employment. The salary range for this position is dependent upon qualifications and departmental equity.
