Job Posting- Psychologist at Children's National Medical Center- DC

CHILD DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

The Child Development Program at Children’s National Medical Center (part of the Children’s National Health System) in Washington, DC is actively seeking a full-time, licensed psychologist with experience in child development and/or early childhood mental health. The faculty-track position may include an academic appointment at The George Washington University School of Medicine & Health Sciences.

The Child Development Program evaluates more than 1,500 children each year from birth to four years of age with developmental concerns, including delays in cognitive, language, motor skills, and attention; high risk for delay due to birth-related complications, medical or environmental circumstances; common behavioral problems such as feeding, sleep, and self-regulation; and atypical patterns of development (i.e. autism).

The program staff of developmental and clinical psychologists provides comprehensive evaluations and consultation, both outpatient and inpatient, parent support and training, and referrals to specialty clinics within Children’s National and to resources in the community. The staff works closely with the child’s primary care provider. The psychologist will provide training and supervision for pediatric residents, psychiatry fellows, & psychology interns/externs. The incoming psychologist must have experience with early childhood assessment, including competency with the Bayley Scales of Infant Development. Experience with the Differential Ability Scales and WPPSI is appreciated. Experience with diagnostic testing pertaining to autism spectrum disorder is critical, and some knowledge of the ADOS-2 is preferred. Excellent report-writing skills are imperative. The psychologist will provide training and supervision for pediatric residents, psychiatry fellows, & psychology interns/externs.
