Clinical Psychology Postdoctoral Position in OCD Treatment and Research at New York State Psychiatric Institute

The Center for OCD and Related Disorders at the Anxiety Disorders Clinic at the New York State Psychiatric Institute, directed by Blair Simpson, MD, PhD, seeks to hire a postdoctoral Clinical Researcher for a 2 year position. Candidates should have a PhD or PsyD in clinical psychology. This position will involve assisting with all aspects of Dr. Simpson’s clinical research program focused on obsessive-compulsive and related disorders, and will include a mixture of clinical and research work, consonant with the applicant’s experience and career trajectory.

Responsibilities will include administering assessments (e.g., SCID, YBOCS, HAM-D) and providing cognitive-behavioral treatment consisting of exposure and response prevention (EX/RP) for adults with OCD. The candidate will also help with project management, participant recruitment and outreach, data collection and analysis, grant writing and preparing publications. Candidates will work with a multi-disciplinary team and will receive clinical and research supervision from experts in the treatment and research of OCD. License eligibility anticipated after 1 year. Applicants must have completed an APA accredited doctoral program and internship.

The ideal applicants will be experienced with OCD and related disorders, delivering exposure and response prevention treatment, administering structured diagnostic assessments, and have strong analytic and writing skills. Prior experience working on clinical trials and interest in developing independent research projects is a plus.
