Tenure Track Assistant Professor in Clinical/Counseling Psychology

The Psychology Department at the University of Minnesota Duluth invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position specializing in Clinical or Counseling Psychology to commence August 22, 2016.

We are seeking a teacher/scholar who is committed to excellence in collegiate teaching, and who possesses the interest and ability to establish an active research program resulting in the creation and dissemination of knowledge.  The area of specialty is open; however, it is preferred that applicants have research experience in the area of treatment outcomes or process evaluation and specialization in multicultural issues, developmental issues, substance abuse treatment, or trauma interventions. Required qualifications include: 1) doctoral degree in Psychology from an accredited institution, degree must be completed by July 1, 2016, 2) commitment to working with diverse populations, 3) experience conducting human subject research of relevance to clinical or counseling psychology, and 4) evidence of strong written communication skills.    The successful candidate will be expected to: 1) teach courses in the department's undergraduate and graduate programs (such as Abnormal Psychology, Basic Helping Skills, Developmental Psychology, Human Sexuality, Clinical Treatment Planning, Multicultural Foundations of Clinical Counseling Psychology);  2) actively engage in research; 3) contribute to our Clinical Counseling Master’s program, including supervision of practicum students; 4) advise undergraduate and graduate students; and 5) participate in departmental and university service. 

Our department is comprised of an eclectic group of productive faculty, dedicated to our University’s mission of integrating liberal education, research, creative activity, and public engagement to prepare students to thrive as lifelong learners and globally engaged citizens.
