Assistant Professor in Clinical Health Psychology

The Psychology Department at the University of Alabama announces an opening for a tenure track Assistant Professor with expertise in Clinical Health Psychology/Behavioral Medicine to begin August 2016. Qualifications include a Ph.D. in clinical psychology (or a closely related field), eligibility for licensure in Alabama, and clear potential for high achievement in research and teaching.

We particularly welcome applicants with expertise in internet-based approaches to health assessments and interventions, health disparities, and integration of behavioral health into primary care.  Collaborations with UA Medical School researchers, both in Tuscaloosa and neighboring Birmingham, are common and well supported.

The University of Alabama, founded in 1831, is the flagship campus of a three-campus system. The University is located in Tuscaloosa, a city of approximately 100,000 that was named an All-America City by the National Civic League. The Department has 35 faculty and 100 graduate students distributed in four clinical (Law, Health, Gerontology, and Child) and three experimental (Cognitive, Developmental, and Social) concentrations and offers doctoral degrees in both clinical and experimental psychology.
