Behavioral scientist opening for the Army (UNCLASSIFIED)

We are currently seeking a Behavioral Scientist for the Silver Spring , Maryland area. RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Serve as Principal Investigator of program evaluations of behavioral health promotion training programs to include outcome efficacy, effectiveness, and implementation studies. Principal investigators: develop evaluation tools and surveys, train evaluators, coordinate and conduct data collection (including travel), write protocols (ensuring human subjects protection requirements), oversee data management, analyze data and maintain codebook, prepare briefings, write reports, and present/publish findings in scientific forums.
    Serve as lead training developer of research-based training modules focused on resilience and well-being. Train developers: lead a team of military personnel, research assistants and report to the chain of command as part of a coordinated effort, oversee literature reviews and the acquisition of media materials, analyze and interpret data to convert to training material for military personnel, create modules including slide presentations, write notes for trainers, ensure modules are disseminated through appropriate channels to include training experts and military personnel throughout the Army and monitor implementation for quality control.
    Provide progress reports and scientific expertise to senior Army staff supporting behavioral health, wellness, and resilience research and programs through briefings and meetings.
    Provide technical assistance to ClinicalRM Headquarters as needed and participate on proposal writing projects when requested.
    Provide all job-related progress reports/technical reports as requested.

    Maintain a safe workplace ensuring that he/she is aware of and observes appropriate safety and occupational health rules and regulations. Employee is required to attend safety training relative to his/her position and report any infractions of safety procedures to the facility Safety Officer.

    Perform light duties and other related duties as required and assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    Ph.D. in psychology, public health/epidemiology or other behavioral science field (e.g., education, sociology, or social work).
    Experience with mental health/behavioral health research required.
    Experience developing prevention training programs and materials or conducting program evaluations required; 2 years preferred.
    Experience with uniformed military personnel and/or the federal government is preferred.
    Must be able to work in a fast-paced, changing environment and juggle and prioritize multiple, competing tasks and demands.
    Must be able to work independently following a brief period of specific technical training while working within a chain of command and seeking supervisory assistance as appropriate.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

    A cover letter with statement of interest.
    One writing sample to be a manuscript or technical report.
    (Optional) A training/course module that was developed.
