Post-Doctoral Fellowship in
Integrated/Primary Care Pediatric Psychology
MetroHealth Medical Center and Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio is pleased to invite applications for a one-year Postdoctoral Fellowship in Integrated/Primary Care Pediatric Psychology starting September 1, 2016 (start date can be negotiated).
The primary objective of the fellowship is to prepare the fellow for an academically-oriented career in integrated/primary pediatric psychology. The fellowship focuses on clinical and research training within a pediatric primary care setting with an underserved population. In addition, the fellow will provide consultation to specialty pediatric populations served within the pediatric outpatient setting (e.g., weight management, transgender youth, developmental disabilities/autism, traumatic brain injury, foster care, neuromuscular disorders, GI, diabetes/endocrine, adolescent health, and pain management). The fellow will participate as a member of the team in multidisciplinary and integrated clinics. For Spanish-speaking applicants there is opportunity to work with patients as a member of the Hispanic Clinic team.
50% of the time will be spent in direct clinical care of children and adolescents and in clinically related primary care activities; 50% of the time will be spent in academic activities: teaching (supervision of psychology interns and practicum students from Case Western Reserve University, educational presentations to psychology and pediatric residents), research (e.g., recruitment and data collection, working with a multi-disciplinary team, working directly with families, grant writing, manuscript preparation), andprofessional development (e.g., didactics, professional development seminars, grand rounds, administrative time, and supervision).
Successful applicants will have completed all requirements at their APA-approved doctoral graduate program in pediatric/child clinical or health psychology by the start of fellowship and will have completed an APA accredited internship in a medical setting specializing in children/families. Preference will be given to candidates with experience working in pediatric primary care settings and with multidisciplinary pediatric teams.
