Dallas VAMC Postdoctoral Fellowships

We are excited to announce several Postdoctoral Fellowships at the VA North Texas Health Care System (VANTHCS). 

We have a total of nine positions within our established Postdoctoral Fellowship program, which is fully accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of the American Psychological Association (APA) through 2019. Our fellowship program includes the following specialty areas:

*      Substance Abuse (2 positions)
*      Geropsychology (1 position)
*      Geropsychology & Substance Abuse (1 position)
*      PTSD (1 position)
*      Patient Aligned Care Team (1 position)
*      Couples and Family Therapy (1 position)
*      Neuropsychology (2 two-year positions)

Application Deadline: December 13, 2015
Neuropsychology Application Deadline: January 1, 2016
Start Date: August 22th, 2016
Stipend:  $44,648
Benefits: 13 days annual leave, up to 13 days sick leave, 10 paid Federal holidays, health insurance

Requirements:
  • Be a U.S. citizen
  • Have completed training in an APA-accredited clinical or counseling psychology program
  • Have completed an APA-accredited psychology internship
  • Have completed their dissertation by the start of the fellowship in August
  • Interest and experience in the area of specialty should be evident in past training and/or experience 

To apply, the following materials are needed:
1.        Cover letter outlining career goals and goodness of fit
2.        An official doctoral program transcript
3.        A current curriculum vitae
4.        Three letters of recommendation, one of which must be from an internship supervisor
5.        Two de-identified work samples
For the Neuropsychology Fellowship, in addition to the above materials please include the following:
1.       An attachment to your cover letter, stating the number of reports written (graduate school and internship) along with a list of the neuropsychological tests that you have administered and scored
2.       Letter from dissertation chair regarding dissertation status and anticipated completion date, if doctoral degree has not been completed at the time of this application
3.       Of the aforementioned two de-identified work samples, both must be neuropsychological assessments
