Faculty Position (Assistant Professor) at the Eastern Virginia Medical School, Autism Spectrum Disorders Program, Norfolk, Virginia



Overview: The EVMS ASD Program in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences is seeking a clinical psychologist for a faculty appointment at the assistant professor level. This position will involve clinical, teaching, and research responsibilities across the life
span of individuals with ASD.

Duties: Clinical responsibilities will include providing comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services to individuals with ASD and their families, individually and in groups. Research responsibilities will include participating in existing ASD Program activities and generating new
projects of the candidate¹s own interest, including research mentorship of doctoral clinical psychology students in their own dissertation projects. Experience in data analyses and research planning is expected, and previous grant participation is a plus. This position will also entail the provision of clinical supervision and classroom teaching to clinical psychology graduate students and interns.

Setting: Our Department supports comprehensive inpatient psychiatric services for adult and geriatric patients, inpatient rehabilitation services, and a wide array of outpatient programs in
Behavioral Medicine, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Forensic Psychology, Neuropsychology,
Pain Management, Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), and Sleep Medicine.  There are multiple intra and inter-departmental opportunities for collegial collaboration with fellow

Qualifications: Applicants must have a doctoral degree and internship in clinical psychology from an APA-accredited doctoral program; a postdoctoral fellowship in ASD or a related area, and experience in evidence-based treatments for ASD and proficiency on the ADOS are a plus.
Applicants must be license-eligible in Virginia.
