Full-Time Faculty Position at the Connecticut Mental Health Center

The Yale University School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry, Psychology Section invites applications for a clinical psychologist to fill a full-time faculty position as an Instructor or an Assistant Professor at the Connecticut Mental Health Center providing psychological consultation on the inpatient psychiatric service.  


The Connecticut Mental Health Center is a large, urban, academically affiliated community mental health center that provides inpatient, subacute, and ambulatory services to an ethnically diverse population of individuals experiencing serious psychiatric and substance abuse problems.  The individual selected for this position will (a) provide psychological consultation to an interdisciplinary inpatient treatment team, (b) develop programs of psychosocial and behavioral intervention for hospitalized clients that support their discharge to a community setting, (c) collaborate with other faculty in the development of a behavioral assessment service, (d) coordinate inpatient placements for predoctoral psychology interns and postdoctoral psychology fellows, (e) participate in the professional education of other mental health trainees, and (e) develop a program of related scholarly activity.  The ideal candidate will have (a) a doctoral degree in clinical psychology from an APA-approved graduate program, (b) expertise in behavioral assessment and intervention, (c) previous experience in an inpatient psychiatric setting transitioning clients to community placements, (d) a recovery orientation with an understanding of collaborative treatment planning, and (e) a strong commitment to graduate psychology training in an applied setting.  All candidates must be license-eligible in the state of Connecticut.  This is a full-time position with the potential for academic promotion.  The initial academic appointment will be commensurate with previous experience.  For more information about the Psychology Section in the Department of Psychiatry at the Yale University School of Medicine, please visit http://www.psychiatry.yale.edu/
