Fall 2013 (and possible Spring 2014) Research Assistant Position at UMass Medical

Upper division or graduate students in psychology, education, early childhood, social work, or related majors who have had some research experience and experience working with young children.  Will be trained to conduct individual assessments of preschool children for a study on early childhood classroom and learning.  Assessments will include standardized developmental and pre-academic skills, emotion regulation, and problem solving.  Mandatory training will take place in late August (several meetings and practice in a child care center) and data collection in mid-September to early November.  Training time will be paid.


Must have use of a car and ability to commit to 2-5 mornings a week for 8-10 weeks to visit classrooms in Worcester and Fitchburg/Leominster/Gardner/Ayer area for data collection. Bilingual in Spanish a plus for some positions.  Paid $30/per assessment including preparation and documentation time.  Gasoline allowance.  Multiple assessments possible at each school visit.


Opportunity to repeat work in April-June 2014 and additional years if interested.
