POST DOCTORAL POSITION (2 years)-KIDSTEPS II STUDY UMass Medical

Available immediately-July 2013.  Search will continue until position is filled.

Seeking psychology, social work, education, public health or health services post-doc interested in early childhood social/emotional development and executive functioning and how that impacts behavior and school readiness.  Participate in a newly funded Institute of Education Sciences 4-year study of a preschool and Head Start curricular intervention that includes follow up to kindergarten.  Opportunities to be trained in child assessment and classroom observations, data analysis, contribute to manuscripts and identify and work on sub-studies using project data.  Must have research experience and work with children and schools, child care programs or community organizations. Broad interest in health care research, including integrating behavioral health and chronic disease management interventions for children or adults into primary care settings is a plus.  Possible clinical work but that will not be main focus of position. Potential for a long term faculty appointment is possible for the successful candidate. 


Study will be conducted in child care and Head Start programs in Central Massachusetts.  Having a car is essential.  Position will be with University of Massachusetts Medical School, Department of Family Medicine.

Competitive post-doctoral salary and attractive benefits. Will consider ABD with near term completion date if candidate can commit full time to the position.
