Postdoctoral Associate Position at Stony Brook University

Stony Brook University seeks a full-time postdoctoral fellow to conduct research with Drs. Roman Kotov (Psychiatry and Psychology) and Evelyn Bromet (Psychiatry and Public Health).  This is a multi-year position, but duration and start time are negotiable. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.

We are seeking a postdoctoral fellow for a position on an ongoing longitudinal investigation of (1) PTSD in responders to the World Trade Center disaster and (2) comorbidity between PTSD and medical conditions in this population. It is a multiwave, multifaceted study of a large patient cohort (N = 18,000). Extensive longitudinal data are already available on psychiatric symptoms, medical conditions, real-world functioning, DNA methylation, and immune activity. New measures can be added.

The postdoctoral fellow will primarily be responsible for preparing manuscripts, writing grants, and conducting analyses. Some staff supervision will also be expected. The fellow will have mentors with expertise in psychopathology, biological psychology, statistical methods, and grantsmanship. Clinical opportunities (conducting diagnostic interviews, providing psychotherapy) are also available, as well as supervision meeting licensure requirements. Non-clinical PhDs are also welcome to apply.

Qualifications include a 1) doctoral degree, 2) demonstrated expertise in advanced multivariate statistics and in psychopathology, as well as 3) a minimum of two first-authored publications. Experience with longitudinal modeling (e.g., SAS Proc Mixed, structural equation modeling), biomarkers, and collaboration on externally-funded studies are highly desired.
To apply, please email your CV to Ms. Aysha Juthi (aysha.juthi@stonybrook.edu).
