Vising Assistant Professor- UNIVERSITY OF KANSAS CLINICAL CHILD PSYCHOLOGY PROGRAM

VISITING ASSISTANT PROFESSOR — Pediatric Psychology. The Clinical Child Psychology Program at the University of Kansas invites applications for a visiting professor position to begin as early as August 18, 2014.  This will be a three-year term (2014-2017). Applicants are expected to have an earned Ph.D. (or ABD) in clinical psychology, with specific experience/expertise in pediatric/child health psychology by the start date of the appointment.  We are seeking a clinical scientist whose research and teaching will complement the Clinical Child Psychology Program’s current strengths in pediatric psychology and will contribute to the University’s Strategic Initiatives (e.g., Promoting Well-being, Finding Cures).

The successful candidate will hold an appointment in the Clinical Child Psychology Program (CCPP), an interdepartmental program of the Departments of Psychology and Applied Behavioral Science.  The Program is consistently ranked in the top 10 Clinical Psychology Programs by US News and World Report, and has received national awards for quality of training in clinical psychological science.  The CCPP enjoys close collaborative relationships with the University of Kansas Medical Center, Children’s Mercy Hospitals and Clinics, local school districts, and mental health centers. The University of Kansas is located in Lawrence, Kansas, 30 miles from Kansas City.  The University of Kansas is a major research university with an exceptional tradition of research and service in child health and development. The CCPP has close ties with the Schielfelbusch Center for Life Span Studies (LSI), one of the University’s largest designated research centers.
