Clinical Research Coordinator Position at the University of Pennsylvania Center for Mental Health Policy and Services Research

Clinical Research Coordinator Position at the University of Pennsylvania Center for Mental Health Policy and Services Research
A clinical research coordinator position is available at the University of Pennsylvania Center for Mental Health Policy and Services Research under the mentorship of Rinad S. Beidas, PhD. Dr. Beidas’s research centers on the dissemination and implementation of evidence-based practices for youth in community settings.

The research coordinator will primarily coordinate two nationally funded research projects, including an NIMH K23 project and a SAMHSA project. The K23 focuses on how a policy mandate impacts implementation of evidence-based practices in the City of Philadelphia in 23 community mental health clinics, with particular attention paid to organizational and leadership level factors predictive of implementation. The SAMHSA funded project is a client-level evaluation of the implementation of trauma-focused cognitive-behavioral therapy. Responsibilities include: IRB submissions and modifications; primary data collection with therapists, administrators, policy-makers, and patients; management of undergraduate students; database preparation and cleaning; submission of financial documents (e.g., participant payment); ongoing communication with over 200 participants; and scholarly presentations and publications.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities: an undergraduate degree in psychology or a related health field; exquisite attention to detail; the ability to manage multiple responsibilities including daily tasks and planning for longer-term projects; outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, particularly given the community partner aspect of this work; and the ability to work both autonomously and within a team. Ideally, the interested applicant would have previous experience in implementation science, but outstanding applicants without this experience should still apply.

This full time position requires a two-year commitment. The preferred start date is June 23rd, 2014. Please send Lucy Walsh a cover letter and resume (luwalsh@upenn.edu) and apply on the Penn system:
