Postdoctoral Fellowship in Pediatric Psychology: Pediatric Consultation-Liaison and Chronic Pain (Children’s Health & Illness Recovery Program; CHIRP)

         Position Description - The Division of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry & Psychology, Department of Pediatrics, University of Louisville School of Medicine is pleased to announce a postdoctoral fellowship for candidates wanting to specialize in pediatric psychology. The start date for the fellowship is July 1, 2014. The fellow will have primary responsibilities providing inpatient consultation-liaison services within a tertiary care children’s hospital.  Additionally, the fellow will have direct involvement in an innovative outpatient intervention project treating adolescents with chronic painful and fatiguing conditions, the Children’s Health and Illness Recovery Program (CHIRP). The fellow participates in individual and group supervision, selected seminars, case conferences and service rounds.  Also, there is an opportunity to supervise a doctoral-level practicum student providing both inpatient CL services and outpatient services under the CHIRP project. Salary/Benefits - This position offers a yearly salary commensurate with NIH guidelines with benefits to include individual health insurance, malpractice/liability insurance, 20 days vacation/sick leave, free parking and use of computer/audio-visual equipment. Requirements - Successful candidates include those with a doctoral degree and internship from APA-accredited programs with evidence of child and adolescent specialization.
