Marywood University's Department of Psychology and Counseling Accepting Applications for Director of Psychological Services Center

Summary of Duties
Marywood University's Department of Psychology and Counseling invites applications for a 12- month Clinical Services position as Director of the Psychological Services Center beginning May 31, 2014.  The PSC is the training facility for our APA-approved Psy.D. Program in Clinical Psychology, our CACREP-approved Mental Health Counseling program, and our Master’s in Clinical Psychology program. The PSC provides quality low cost mental health services to the community with emphasis on the underserved. The PSC provides assessments and intervention services (individual, marital, and family) for children, adolescents and adults. The PSC also provides numerous outreach services such as depression, anxiety, and eating disorders screenings and attendance at various community health fairs.

The PSC Director is responsible for establishing and refining the policies and procedures of the PSC, supervision of students providing clinical services, administration of the PSC facility, and is a core member of the Psy.D. faculty. The PSC Director is also responsible to teach three courses per year: a pre-practicum course to first-year Psy.D. students in the fall semester and two additional courses. The ideal candidate will possess excellent supervisory skills as well as strong organizational skills.

The Department of Psychology and Counseling is in the Reap College of Education and Human Development.  The Department offers degrees in undergraduate psychology, master’s psychology, CACREP-accredited School and Mental Health Counseling, School Psychology, and APA-accredited Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology.

Marywood University is a comprehensive Catholic university sponsored by the Congregation of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and located in northeastern Pennsylvania.

Requirements
Educational: The position requires a doctoral degree in professional psychology (i.e., clinical, counseling, or school) from a program accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA). Additionally, the position prefers an APA-accredited internship. The successful candidate will be licensed or license-eligible as a psychologist in PA.
