Assistant Professor-Clinical Track

Position: The Department of Psychological and Quantitative Foundations at the University of Iowa invites applications for a 9-month, clinical track faculty position at the rank of assistant professor in the School Psychology and Counseling Psychology programs.

Description:  We seek an individual with broad interests and experiences in the field of applied psychology.  The successful candidate will join a partnership with School Psychology and Counseling Psychology faculty and teach graduate-level courses.

Education Requirement:  Prospective candidates must have earned a doctorate in School Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or related field.

Required Qualifications: (1) Licensure in Iowa by the Department of Public Health (Licensed Psychologist). (2) Ability to work collaboratively and with diverse populations.

Desirable Qualifications: (1) Direct experience working with children with academic and/or social adjustment problems in elementary and/or secondary school settings. (2) Direct experience working with special education eligibility, and IEP implementation and management. (3) Knowledge of general and special education legislation. (4) Experience supervising graduate student practicum or internship experiences. (5) College teaching experience and evidence of effective teaching/training. (6) Counseling or intervention experience. (7) Interest in developing and teaching courses online.

Responsibilities: Major responsibilities include: graduate-level teaching, graduate-student supervision in practicum placements, and administrative work related to practicum placements and program operation. The successful candidate will work in full collaboration with faculty members in School and Counseling Psychology.

Appointment:  Academic year clinical, non-tenure track appointment beginning August, 2014 or negotiated start date.
