Post-doctoral fellowship opportunity at Akron Children's Hospital

The Behavioral Health Cluster of Pediatric Psychiatry and Psychology in the Department of Pediatrics under the administrative direction of Georgette Constantinou, Ph.D., and the Division of Neurobehavioral Health under the direction of Lisa D. Stanford, Ph.D., ABPP within the NeuroDevelopmental Science Center (NDSC) at Children’s Hospital and Medical Center of Akron are jointly recruiting two positions in a one year fellowship program in clinical pediatric psychology. We currently have 13 full-time psychologists (including three neuropsychologists) available for supervision within multiple clinical programs. Rotations include inpatient and outpatient behavioral medicine consultation-liaison (general medical floors, hematology/oncology service, palliative care, epilepsy monitoring/treatment program, physical medicine and rehabilitation, pain management) and additional rotations for outpatient services include Attention, Cognitive/Intellectual Functioning (ACE) Assessment, pediatric neuropsychological assessment program, Autism/Early Childhood Diagnostic Clinic, the School Success Program, Endocrinology, Obesity, and biofeedback for pain management and headache clinic. All fellows participate in a variety of didactic activities including case conferences, Pediatric Grand Rounds, teaching/supervision of externs and psychometrists, and contribution to or initiation of research programs under the mentorship of faculty. Research programs (most of them grant supported) are ongoing in the following areas: neurobehavioral disorders, traumatic brain injury, headaches, neonatal follow-up, and epilepsy.
Fellows will receive a salary of $52,000, as well as a benefit package.
