of Westchester and Manhattan
of Westchester and Manhattan
Cognitive and Behavioral
Consultants invites applications for a one-year postdoctoral fellowship
beginning September of 2015. CBC is an evidence-based treatment center that
serves children, adolescents, adults, families and couples. Our center was
founded in 2004 by Drs. Lata McGinn and Alec Miller, both of whom are
internationally recognized experts in their respective fields of Cognitive
Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). CBC is comprised
of a select group of highly skilled clinicians who have been intensively
trained in CBT and DBT, and who have obtained additional specialized training
for a variety of disorders. We provide comprehensive treatment in both CBT and
DBT. We have a collegial and stimulating environment and offer an outstanding
opportunity to receive comprehensive training and supervision in CBT and DBT.
Post-doctoral fellows will conduct individual, family and group therapies, and co-lead one or more CBT groups and/or DBT skills training groups with highly trained therapists/supervisors. Fellows receive several hours of individual and group supervision per week coupled with participation in a weekly DBT therapist consultation meeting and didactic seminars on CBT and DBT. This comprehensive training experience also includes monthly CBT consultation team, as well as a lecture series in which nationally and internationally renowned speakers are invited from the CBT and DBT communities. Fellows also supervise pre-doctoral psychology students, and receive supervision and training in this area.

In addition, post-doctoral
fellows will be eligible to apply for an optional 2nd year of supervision and
training under the new title and salary of junior psychologist. In this role,
the junior psychologist will supervise pre-doctoral psychology students and
further develop areas of specialization and interest (e.g., starting specialized
groups, giving talks in the community, co-authoring manuscripts). This
addition to our postdoctoral program reflects both the expansion of our
practice, and our dedication to providing comprehensive training that prepares
psychologists for multiple career opportunities in the field.
This is an outstanding
opportunity to join our cohesive team of clinicians who are dedicated to
clinical training and to providing evidence-based services. To learn more about
