Pre-Doctoral Externship in
Evidence-Based Treatments at
Cognitive and Behavioral Consultants of Westchester and Manhattan
Cognitive and Behavioral Consultants of Westchester and Manhattan
Cognitive and Behavioral Consultants invites applicants for
a pre-doctoral externship beginning in September 2015. CBC, a private group
practice, was founded by Drs. Lata McGinn and Alec Miller, both of whom are
internationally renowned experts in their respective fields of Cognitive
Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
CBC is comprised of a group of highly skilled clinicians who
utilize evidence-based therapy to treat children, adolescents, adults, families
and couples. Clinicians at CBC have been intensively trained in CBT and DBT,
and have expertise in the treatment of a wide range of disorders.
CBC offers a warm and supportive atmosphere in which externs will receive comprehensive training and supervision from highly trained supervisors. Based on their interests and/or prior experiences, externs will have the opportunity to conduct individual, family, and couples therapy, as well as parent training using CBT and DBT modalities. They may have the opportunity to co-lead one or more CBT groups with highly trained therapists/supervisors. Additionally, depending upon their interest and/or prior experience, externs may have the opportunity to co-lead DBT skills groups. Externs will receive individual, peer, and group CBT supervision, dyadic DBT supervision, as well as weekly didactic seminars on topics related to CBT and DBT.
This externship provides a unique opportunity to join a
cohesive team of clinicians dedicated to clinical training and providing
