ASSISTANT PROFESSOR NEUROPSYCHOLOGIST
/ HEALTH PSYCHOLOGIST
The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at
Eastern Virginia Medical School seeks a Clinical Neuropsychologist, able to
work with children and adults, to join its Neuropsychology Program and
contribute to teaching and research responsibilities within our Psychology
Division. The successful candidate will have completed post-doctoral training
in neuropsychology, be immediately license-eligible in Virginia, be eligible
for ABPP/ABPN board certification in clinical neuropsychology, and be prepared
to supervise, teach, and mentor student research in areas of neuropsychology
and health psychology. Duties will
include patient care provision within the Program’s outpatient clinic, research/scholarship
in areas of interest, and teaching/supervision responsibilities within two APA-accredited
training programs – (1) our Virginia Consortium Program in Clinical Psychology,
a collaborative Ph.D. program with Norfolk State University and Old Dominion
University; and (2) our EVMS Clinical Psychology Internship. There may be additional teaching
opportunities with medical students, psychiatry residents, and post-doctoral
fellows. Our Department supports comprehensive
inpatient psychiatric services for adult and geriatric patients, inpatient
rehabilitation services, and a wide array of outpatient programs in Autism
Spectrum Disorders (ASD), Behavioral Medicine, Cognitive Behavior Therapy,
Forensic Psychology, Neuropsychology, Obesity, Pain Management, Transcranial
Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), and Sleep Medicine. There are multiple intra and
inter-departmental opportunities for collegial collaboration with fellow
faculty committed to a tripartite mission of excellence in clinical care, teaching,
and research. EVMS offers a competitive
