Assistant Professor position at WVU HSC

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR - PSYCHOLOGY:  The Department of Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry at the Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center of West Virginia University School of Medicine seeks a full time adult clinical psychologist at the assistant professor level with an interest in evidence based clinical service, training, and scholarly activity.  

The department has needs in the provision of health psychology services in general as well as general mental health services. We are flexible regarding specific clinical duties depending on previous expertise and populations of interest. Within the department there is a strong collaborative focus in clinical service, teaching, and scholarship among psychologists, psychiatrists, and social workers. Additionally faculty frequently collaborate with faculty in other medical school departments.  The department strongly encourages professional development with support/mentoring for development of clinical services, improved teaching/training, and scholarship.  

Appropriate candidates include new graduates as well as early career clinicians. Previous experience in academic medicine not required. The successful candidate is expected to provide clinical services, contribute to our APA-accredited internship training program, medical student and resident education, and participate in scholarly activities. Applicants must possess a PhD or PsyD in clinical psychology from an APA/CPA-accredited graduate program with an APA/CPA-approved internship and be immediately eligible for licensure in West Virginia.  Review of applications will continue until the position is filled.
