Postdoctoral Fellowship in Youth Mental Health Treatment at the University of Miami

We are actively seeking a postdoctoral clinician-scholar to meaningfully contribute to our ongoing youth services and clinical research investigations for a two-year fellowship to begin in Summer 2015. The postdoctoral fellow hire will be working with both the Child and Adolescent Mood and Anxiety Treatment (CAMAT) Program in the Department of Psychology at the University of Miami and, specifically (contingent on funding availability), on an NIMH-funded effectiveness research project in local community mental health sites. Both Drs. Amanda Jensen-Doss and Jill Ehrenreich-May will supervise the postdoctoral fellow.

The selected postdoctoral fellow would contribute evidence-based assessment and treatment services to youths and their families experiencing primary anxiety and depressive disorders and assist faculty in providing clinical and research supervision to doctoral, undergraduate and post baccalaureate students. If the NIMH grant is funded, the postdoctoral fellow would contribute primarily to effectiveness research on the Unified Protocol for the Treatment of Emotional Disorders in Adolescents, providing assessments of youth and clinical supervision in community mental health sites. Given potential interaction with community sites in Miami, Spanish language skills (sufficient for semi-structured interviewing and basic conversation) are highly preferred. As postdoctoral fellow, opportunities exist for publications and overall experience with the conduct of clinical trials. Achievement of subsequent licensure, including required clinical hours for such, will be encouraged. Competitive salary and benefits will be provided.

Candidates for this postdoctoral fellowship must have a completed Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical or Counseling Psychology or provide documentation that they are on track to complete all doctoral requirements for the Ph.D./Psy.D. prior to the fellowship start date. Significant prior experience in the assessment and/or cognitive behavioral treatment of anxious and/or depressed youth is preferred. We are open to considering both those with an interest in a primarily research-oriented career in clinical science and those with a primarily clinical interest in the population.
