Job Announcement: Clinical Assistant Professor and Center for Clinical Psychological Services (Curry School of Education, University of Virginia)

The Curry School of Education at the University of Virginia is seeking applicants for a full-time, 12-month salaried non-tenure track Assistant Professor, Clinical Faculty in the Department of Human Services, Clinical and School Psychology. The incumbent serves as Center for Clinical Psychology Services (CCPS) Director and is responsible for development and implementation of clinical/educational services as well as teaching, supervision, and direct clinical service. This includes supervision of all aspects of clinical psychology training operations for doctoral graduate students and postdoctoral associates, including organizational management (referral flow, tracking clinical case load, supervising therapist case management, coordinating with community practica), clinic budget oversight, and direct clinical supervision of pre-doctoral students' and postdoctoral associates' clinical activities. Incumbent coordinates the clinical training component of the CCPS, working closely with program faculty to assure alignment of clinical goals and activities with doctoral students' program of study. The CCPS Director uses a data-driven approach to quality improvements in clinical services and training, as well as work toward creating a research-friendly environment in CCPS. Teaching responsibilities focus on clinical training, including essential clinical skills, clinic operations, ethics, and assessment/diagnosis of children/adolescents' social-emotional functioning, learning, and behavioral difficulties. Direct clinical service includes individual and family psychotherapy, parent and teacher consultation regarding evidence-based interventions in home and school environments, and psychological assessments.

The position is renewable dependent upon availability of funding and satisfactory performance.

A doctorate in Clinical or School Psychology is required. Must be a VA Licensed Clinical Psychologist, and have experience supervising pre-doctoral students in a clinical environment. Teaching experience in a higher education setting or equivalent in courses related to provision of clinical services is preferred. Demonstrated competence in the following is required: 

-utilizing objective and projective methods for assessing cognitive/academic and personality/social-emotional functioning in children, college students, adults, and families;
-providing empirically based interventions for home and school contexts to address needs of children, adults, and families;
-delivery of culturally responsive assessments and therapeutic services.
