The Mind Body Clinical Research Center (MB-CRC) in the Department of Psychiatry at Stony Brook University seeks a full-time Clinical Research Scientist to provide clinical services and conduct research as part of our team. The mission of the MB-CRC is to improve the mental and physical health of individuals and communities managing chronic health conditions through providing holistic clinical services, conducting basic and applied cutting-edge research, and training tomorrow’s clinical research leaders. Our goals are to shed light on the mechanisms underlying the co-occurrence of medical and psychiatric disorders and design better interventions that integrate physical and psychological components. We are looking for a licensed clinical psychologist to join our  clinical research team. The psychologist will be expected to split their time between clinical (50%) and research activities (50%). Clinical activities will include conducting intake assessments, providing individual and group psychotherapy and providing professional development workshops on topics such as self-care and stress management.Qualifications: a doctoral degree and license to practice clinical psychology in NY State (will consider license eligible candidates), demonstrated knowledge of psychotherapy outcome research, a minimum of one first-authored publication and experience with empirically supported treatments for stress, anxiety and depression such as CBT, DBT, Mindfulness or other mind-body interventions (e.g., yoga). Experience with grant writing, smoking cessation treatment/research and familiarity with structured diagnostic interviews are highly desired.
